Loads of people ask us about our name. Why Info Salons? Is this something to do with hair? Many of you may not realise that our CEO, Jo-Anne Kelleway worked with a French registration company in Paris. The word “salons” in French means Trade Shows. So our name literally means Information Technology for Trade Shows.

Info Salons opened its doors in Australia in 1990. At that time the Aussie trade show industry had exploded with the opening of the new Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre at Darling Harbour. Australia needed a specialised data capture company that would develop the professionalism of the industry. Info Salons provided that solution, and the registration for 10 events in that first year.

Fast forward to the year 2000 when the Olympic Games came to Sydney, and Info Salons held the major share of the Trade Fair market working with over 200 events annually. As the Australian industry began maturing, we decided to look further afield. With the appeal of Asia on our doorstep, China seemed the natural place to go.

Our clients were international companies who also held events globally, so within a few years they were asking us to provide our services to assist in the growth of their events.

By 2005, the Shanghai office was opened and we were off and running. Our largest clients became our “foundation partners” who led us into Dubai in 2007, then into Hong Kong in 2008 and into Istanbul in 2014 with Fuarsistem partnership. We continue to expand where our clients need us.

Wilbert Heijmans
Managing Director - Info Salons Group

Wilbert leads the Info Salons Group since December 2019 after heading the Middle East North Africa office for 8 years. Prior to be on the solutions providers side of the industry Wilbert has been working for leading trade show organisers like Messe Frankfurt and Jaarbeurs/VNU for over 12 years in The Middle East, Greater China and The Netherlands. Wilbert loves to work on business development and add value to the events industry by bringing latest tech to the table with the purpose of generating more insights from richer data. Hopefully we will be able to #GoLiveTogether soon and you’ll see Wilbert at one of the leading industry events!

Kevin Lee
Chief Technology Officer - Info Salons Group

Kevin is Info Salons Groups Chief Technology Officer, setting our technology strategy, roadmap and architecture and helping to further scale our global platform. Prior to joining Info Salons Group, he was the founder of Kevin Lee Consulting. Kevin’s career in technology has also included the roles of leadership from the Financial Technology space that include agile transformation for numerous financial institutions. His expertise lies in business-focused thought leadership in IT, software delivery, data management, digital transformation and portfolio management. Kevin’s goal is to develop strategies that benefit the people and the business, core values are to always learn and build high performing teams.

Maggie Wang
Director of Finance – Info Salons Group

MPA, CPA, BA Info Salons Group Director of Finance, joined Info Salons in August 2018. Background: over 15 years’ experience as a senior financial executive in various industries including construction, FMCG, Technology and government organisations. Maggie’s role is vital to the success of the business and she has been utilising her solid technical skills on FP&A, financial reporting, budget, and cash management to support the group Managing Director and regional managing director. Always eager to learn something new, with business acumen, Maggie is looking forward for the next challenge at Info Salons global expansion.  

Jo-Anne Kelleway
International Strategy / Growth

Jo-Anne Kelleway founded Info Salons Australia in 1990. Her decision to expand internationally started the company on a journey to evolve from a small Aussie start-up to an internationally renowned and respected event technology company, which was acquired by The Freeman Company in 2018. She worked on the strategy for Freeman to acquire CDS, the largest registration company in USA in 2019. Jo-Anne continues working on the strategic approach to create a global solution, with both John Kimball at CDS and Wilbert Heijmans at Info Salons. Jo-Anne also believes in giving back to the industry with positions on both UFI Digital Innovation Committee and UFI Partners Committee.

James Feng

Steven Gibson
Managing Director – South East Asia & Australia

With over 25 years’ experience in the events and hospitality industry Steven brings a wealth of experience with a focus on customer service and operational excellence. Having started with Info Salons Australia in the early 2000’s Steven has been with us right through our International expansion including 2 years living in Shanghai and supporting the Middle East Operation from inception through to its position as market leader. With customer relations a priority Steven is now working to build our brand throughout SE Asia as well as overseeing where it all began – Sydney Australia

Vasileios Papadopoulos
Managing Director - Info Salons MENA

Vasileios started his Career in Events in 2012 with aspiration to one day lead a team of like-minded people. The journey got him working for reputed organisers such as F&E and Dubai World Trade Center. Throughout the years, Vasileios experienced different aspects and roles in Events, from registration to planning and organising high class international events in the MENA region, such as the inauguration of the Future Blockchain Summit in 2018, where his accomplishments earned him great respect in the industry. However, shortly after Vasileios returned to Info Salons, following his long-cherished desire to run a company. Vasileios’ background in Aerospace Engineering got him to contribute to innovation and bring creativity into the challenging business of Events.
